Tonight's Menu

We at Chez Hausfrau pride ourselves on the quality of our meals. Most would agree that each meal is lovingly prepared with fantastic ingredients and almost always clean hands.

It is with great regret that we inform you that this evening's entree, Grilled Pork Chops in a honey ginger marinade will NOT be served this evening, due to the outdoor barbeque grill catching on fire. And while there should be fire in a barbeque grill, there shouldn't be fire ENVELOPING the grill.

Thanks to our quick-thinking souz chef, we have some tasty alternatives that will most assuredly satisfy even the most finicky palate:

Grilled Egg and Cheese Sandwich
Hummus with Reduced Fat Wheat Thins
Bowl of Corn Flakes
$3 off Coupon for Donato's

Bon Appetit!

What, no pictures of the fire? How disappointing.

Hope the sous chef survived; I assume the grill didn't. And someday I will tell you about the bird's nest in our grill! Ha ha so very funny.

I was in an utter panic about the fire and my husband wasn't home yet. Not the best time to discover that you don't have a fire extinguisher. Of course the initial blame was set squarely on me since "Only men barbeque." However, there is this box thingie at the bottom of the grill that he has NEVER CLEANED.

And no, I will have to find that tiny toons episode you are talking about Kimmy! Thanks for the tip

Oh, man...You left me with quite an image in my head. What was your hubby's reaction?

We live in an old 1940s house where there is actually a gas line from our house to the grill. I shudder to think of the repercussions if our grill went up in flames. Gulp.

I'm too neurotic to cook on the grill.

What if the kids get too close?
And they fall down and fall into the grill?
And get burned over 40% of their bodies?

Besides cooking on the grill is too much like camping. The closest I want to get to roughing it, is no hair dryer at the Holiday Inn.

Oh jeez. We grill nearly every night. We'd have nothing if caught on fire.

SSsshhh!!! I'm still telling the hubbie we have to GET a grill!!!
Oh well, it's getting cool now and I don't wanna cook outside now anyway.
Grilled cheese is a winner but PB&Js require no cooking whatsoever! I can give you my gourmet recipe if you want it! ; )
