One day it just happens and your able to go anywhere. Try kid friendly places and work up to the harder places.....if that all fails just bribe with candy to sit still in the cart!!! I swear that if I take my eyes off my daughter for one second, she'll crawl onto a highway. Not only maddening but stressful also. Anyway...my advice for you is to just stop delaying the inevitable and just do it. It's like root canal. You can put it off for awhile but eventually, you're going to have to go through with it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13856645.post-1121225834929285192005-07-12T22:37:00.000-05:002005-07-12T22:37:00.000-05:00I don't know which is worse:the screaming or my ki...I don't know which is worse:the screaming or my kid asking, "What's that? WHYYYYY?" constantly as we drive. He asks it about everything---phone polls, McDonald's, other cars...

The kid is 3. He KNOWS what these things are. He also knows I'm trying to either listen to the radio or avoid getting into an accident. I now just make up ridiculous answers to get a rise out of him. I feel like the dad from Calvin and Hobbes.

By the way---picture the grocery store, me, a twin in a Baby Bjorn, the other in the cart, and my 3 year old holding the side of the cart. I was always so jealous of those parents who could, say, go to a restaurant WITH THEIR CHILDREN, or even to the post office.

Not me.

Things are MUCH better now. They're 8 and 5, and I'm not sure when things improved, but I'm thinking it was when The Boy started school.chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11785505580253953896noreply@blogger.com
