I wish I could sleep, but I am completely alone in the house right now. Herr left Sunday morning with the dogs to go back to New Jersey. The movers called on Friday to say that are coming a day early--WTF?!?! I had mentally prepared myself to leave this house the minute the movers load the last box on Wednesday afternoon--not Tuesday afternoon! As a result, I had to take the girls today to my MIL's house a day early so that they won't be around when the movers are here. And while I know that one day really doesn't make much difference in terms of things I have to do, I feel
So after the last box is loaded onto the semi on Tuesday afternoon, I will leave this house, get the girls and leave Cincinnati for good.

We just went through this, I feel your pain. I forgot to have the check ready for the movers so that was a little uncomfortable. I think movers are used to seeing people cry, if that is any consolation.
I know that "throat closing" feeling of which you speak. Something is coming to an end and even though you're going on to new adventures, it feels like you're leaving something behind in an act of betrayal. I actually felt guilty for leaving a house that had become WAY TOO SMALL for us and, when we moved, it was an emotional time. Take movies of the inside of your house before you leave. Every room. The girls will need it later when they've forgotten.
Oh, Hausfrau - good luck, and hang in there. (My throat would be closing up too...)
BTW, the house is gorgeous. I can't believe nobody's snatched it up yet!
Good luck, Hausfrau. They say that moving is one of the ten most stressful things you can do in life, up there with having kids and getting married, so I wish you and your family a safe and emotionally painless experience. And on behalf of the East Coast, we're happy to have you.
Aw.
Good luck to you and your family Hausfrau. I hope that you keep up your blog and let us know how you are. Maybe you can do some audioposts til you get all settled?
I'll be thinking of you....
An a new adventure begins!
Good luck, MH!
Right there with you, sister. I am sending my it-wasn't-that-bad move mojo to you, so look out for it.
hugs to you--and the NJ that's lucky to get you.
Happy Trains, Frau! Looking forward to hearing from you when you're settled!
Good luck to you all! Happy travels!
Safe travels and hopefully the move goes smoothly on the other end.
Keep us posted!
Oh, goodness... moving is so hard. Physically, emotionally. Safe journey to you. St. Louis will miss you but I hope you find happiness ahead in your new home.
A day early? That would make me crazy. I hope you have a good move. Can't wait to hear about the new house.
Woo hoo! Good luck!
What a beautiful home. I too can't believe it hasn't sold yet.
Best of luck in your move. Can't wait to hear about your new adventure!
Good luck with your move and stay well...
Looking forward to hearing from you when you are all settled in with the girls...
(Still can not believe the movers showed up a day early... You are one strong woman Misfit Hausfrau!)
